The Brizo is the very first state vessel equipped with a traction wing from Beyond the Sea.

It is the intervention vessel of the Maritime Affairs of the Bassin d’Arcachon. It was christened today by its godfather, Yves PARLIER.

Eric BANEL, Director-General of Maritime Affairs, was present for the occasion. He stated that the outfitting of this patrol boat was a sign that the state services are investing in the decarbonization of maritime activities.

The self-stabilizing LibertyKite wing, primarily designed as a rescue wing in case of breakdown (engine failure or mast loss), also allows those who use it to sail by turning off the engine, without polluting, and taking the time to move forward with the power of the wind.

Our more powerful and fully automated SeaKite system, installed on board our laboratory catamaran, the SeaKite, is intended to reduce ships’ fossil fuel consumption and thus their greenhouse gas emissions.

Thanks to Delphine Cathala and Helene Chancel-Lesueur for their commitment to innovation!
