Yves Parlier: the kitesurfing wing to pull boats – Les Echos

With his company Beyond the Sea, the former Gironde navigator has developed a kite capable of towing pleasure boats, fishing boats and soon cruise ships.

After sailing, kite sailing? This is the objective pursued by Yves Parlier with his company Beyond the Sea: to make the kite used for kitesurfing a way to tow a ship. The former navigator who has been working on his project since 2007 is close to his goal. A first product, the LibertyKite, designed for boats from 4 to 18 metres has just been launched. Available in two versions of 10 and 20 square metres.

Since 2007, Yves Parlier, with the support of the Aquitaine region, has been embarking on a new challenge that is very different from that of the competition: that of kite wings for the yachting market. It is therefore on our platform installed at the Salon Nautique d’Arcachon that we received him so that he could present us the LibertyKite, the kite that tows boats.

Demonstrations will be held every day on a LibertyKite towed pinasse between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Yves Parlier will also host a conference on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 am in the institutional lobby.
